My Tips for Organizing Makeup

If you're like me and just can't seem to stop buying makeup and beauty products, then you're probably busting at the seams and at the point of stuffing products into random places like on your desk or in your dresser (speaking from experience). But with a little bit of effort, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it doesn't take much to be able to organize all of my products in one place. Below I have listed different makeup organizers that come in a wide variety of sizes, materials, and colors. And you know what the best part is? They're all under $20 so don't be afraid to stock up cause these products are complete game changers when it comes to getting ready!

Once you've gotten your cosmetic organization under control, here are some tips that will help you stay organized and get ready faster!

Flip over your favorite lipsticks - (this tip is shown in the cover photo above) this will help you to find the right shade quickly and will eliminate the time it takes to go through and open each lipstick individually.

Throw out old makeup - guilty as charged! I used to go months before throwing out my old mascara and dried up liquid eyeliners, for some reason I could never justify throwing them out. But keeping around old products like these wastes space that could be utilized by NEW ones.

Get rid of the makeup that you don't wear -  trust me, I know you couldn't resist buying that urban decay purple lipstick but if you haven't worn it yet, chances are you aren't going to. Don't waste valuable space and storage on products that you don't use.

Separate everything according to product type -  I used to separate my makeup by categories like ace, eyes, and lips but that can get confusing when you're looking for a specific product in a hurry. That is why it's helpful to get really nitty-gritty with how you organize certain types of products. For instance, I keep all my lip liners together, my mascaras together, my palettes, my single eyeshadows, my lipsticks, my glosses and so on.

I hope all these tips were helpful in making your beauty routine a little easier. Let me know in the comments what you think or if you'd like to see more posts like this in the feature! Enjoy!
